Yesterday we tracked Slingshot Million’s (the new band here) main female singer Yui’s vocals. We had some trouble trying to get her to sing the harmonies for some parts, but we used a piano to get her on track and everything turned out nicely. I have been using the Mackie onyx 1620’s pres and eq on the drums, and the FMR audio RNP & RNC on the Vocals, Bass & Guitar. We are trying as much as possible to keep to the sound the band will be sounding like on stage, so minimal FX as much as possible. Of course this IS an album so it is mixed properly so it sounds like an album.

I will be mastering it soon after we retake some guitar on one song that seemed to lack a bit on the “power” side. I used an SM57 for micing the cabinet. The main guitarist uses a Hughes and Ketner amp, with a head and cabinet. And I thought that micing it with an SM57 sounded just about right.

The vocals we used a Shure ksm 32sl. Bass we used the FMR RNP, RNC combo.

He’s my patna’ in crime and so says his song which was recorded here at stillbliss studios today. This song is dedicated to his wife and their one year anniversary. Cheers to nodogoshi.
I played the electric rhthym, Eletric lead,  E-Bass, mixed Mastered and edited his song, it is in the MP3 player.

Today Jago came to record “Neighbor,” which is in the radio player. Later Chris Larke came to practice as a new band, with all three of us. Ate some dinner from Lawson then started practicing.
